Simpson Foundation Awards $71,000 in Employee Scholarships

The Simpson Foundation is proud to announce $71,000 in scholarships were awarded to 30 recipients via the Simpson Foundation’s Co-Worker Support Fund. Recipients range from teens beginning their college careers to professionals seeking advanced certifications.

The Co-Worker Scholarship Committee members are made up of Residents and Simpson Foundation Staff who assist in securing gifts to the Fund—which are used in their entirety each year to provide scholarships for eligible employees. This year’s recipients are from all three Simpson communities: Jenner’s Pond, Simpson Meadows, and Simpson House as well as the Simpson Resource Center.

“I am so proud of the way our donors and volunteers have teamed up with the Simpson Foundation to make this opportunity a reality for our wonderful coworkers,” said Susan Sharp, Vice President of Mission Advancement at Simpson.

“This scholarship provides a sense of motivation for all recipients that drives us to challenge ourselves academically, pursue our passions, and strive for excellence,” said Jesus Cordova-Rangel, a dining associate at Jenner’s Pond who is studying cell and molecular biology at West Chester University.

Earlier this month, Jenner’s Pond held a ceremony to award $65,000 in employee scholarships to 26 recipients.

The Jenner’s Pond Employee Scholarship Committee, made up of residents, oversees the program in conjunction with the Simpson Foundation. Committee members also assist in securing gifts to the Educational Scholarship Fund—which are used in their entirety each year to provide scholarships for eligible employees.

“The residents of Jenner’s Pond have a great appreciation for the work done by the young people working here. They bring an energy that makes us all feel better. We also greatly value education and are excited about our ability to help these young men and women achieve their goals. As more and more students get scholarships each year, more and more residents look forward to making the Simpson Employee Scholarship Fund an integral part of their philanthropic plan.”
