Innovative Communities for Exceptional Living in Pennsylvania.
Come for a tour or join us for an event, you’ll discover Simpson defies the cookie-cutter sameness often found in senior living communities.
Rooted in faith and authenticity, our pioneering nonprofit spirit empowers today’s modern elders to pursue inspired days and confident futures with a diverse mix of communities, creative programming, and joyous experiences.
Choose from three nonprofit Life Plan Communities. Every location has a distinct personality. Yet, they are part of one family delivering on more than 150 years of tradition: A full continuum of care embraces a full spectrum of experience rooted in timeless spiritual principles and modern innovations for aging well.
From independent living, personal care, assisted living, memory support, and short-term rehabilitation, to skilled nursing, we offer elders of diverse backgrounds everything they need for a flourishing life.
At Simpson, making a difference has no age limit.
At 91 years young, Dr. Bennett, a true trailblazer and Simpson House resident, continues to make an impact—not only as the first African American woman to earn a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania but also as a practicing psychiatrist and an inspiration to all. Recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, her story is a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose.
We are proud to celebrate her incredible journey and legacy, which CBS featured as part of their Black History Month stories.

A leader in innovation.
The nonprofit difference at Simpson.
We are very proud that Simpson is a locally owned, not-for-profit organization serving the state of Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. As a not-for-profit senior living organization, we reinvest money back in our communities to benefit the people who live there. This means more amenities, better services, improved care, and a higher quality of life. Our residents have a stake in our success and their views, wants and needs are reflected in the work we do.
Compared to many for-profit communities whose focus also must benefit their owners, investors or shareholders, we are committed to the wellbeing of our residents, our team members and the local community.
Simpson includes retirement communities in and around Philadelphia that offer senior independent living apartments and cottages, personal care and assisted living, memory support, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, therapy, respite care and home care.
